More than 100 guests witnessed the unveiling of the “Amazing Love” statue framing the west entrance of The Wesleyan Church World Headquarters in Fishers, Indiana.

Headquarters employees, church and community leaders, and special guests joined in the May 3 celebration, as artist Rick Wienecke unveiled the two-piece bronze sculptures. A Canadian native and present Israeli citizen, Wienecke flew to the United States to attend the ceremony and unveil his sculpture: a piece representing the father and son in the parable about the lost son in Luke 15.

Gripped by the message of the New Testament while visiting the Holy Land, Wienecke became a born-again Christian during a gospel presentation at the Garden Tomb. Since then, his dedicated artistry has garnered attention throughout the world. Wienecke’s work is seen on several Wesleyan campuses, including Southern Wesleyan University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

The sculpture was made possible through gifts from Drs. Wilbur and Ardelia Williams (professors at Indiana Wesleyan University), the Wesleyan Investment Foundation, and The Wesleyan Church. •
